Here are some red flags to watch out for in your teeth:

1) Swollen Gums

Typically, a sign of type 2 diabetes or periodontal disease, it is important to remember that periodontal disease is a fairly common ailment that affects people of all ages. Swollen gums are a telltale sign for people suffering from periodontal disease.

In some cases, inflated gums may also denote the presence of a heart disease.

So, if you are someone suffering from swollen gums on a fairly regular basis, it is best that you consult a doctor to clear your queries.

2) Acid reflux on a fairly regular basis

Suffering from acid reflux frequently may also cause a permanent damage to your teeth and lead to tooth erosion. GERD or gastroesophaegal reflux disease is a silent ailment that doesn’t show many symptoms. Tooth erosion is the most common indicator of the presence of GERD and can wear down your teeth.

7) Dry Mouth

The presence of dry mouth might denote the onset of diabetes or in rare cases, Parkinson’s disease. To get rid of dry mouth, you need to up your fluid intake.

In conclusion, your teeth can indeed reveal a lot of information about you and predict whether you have diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease or a medley of lifestyle diseases. So pay close attention to it and don’t hesitate to consult a medical professional.
