Types of Dental Implants 

 1) Endosteal implant 

 A very common type of dental implant, this is apt for people who are looking to replace their tooth with a suitable material. These are usually placed in the jawbone and is made of titanium. If you are healthy and don’t have any complications, you should go with this type of implant. They are usually shaped like screws, cylinders and blades.

2) Subperiosteal implant 

These are dental implants made out of the metal framework and is attached to your gums. They are mostly used in deep jaw bones for replacing single/multiple teeth. They are a common alternative to endosteal implants and is apt for people with weaker jawbones and for those who don’t have the minimum bone height.

  •  Average range – 30,000 – 65,000 Rs.

 3) Transosseous implant 

 A fairly recent method when it comes to dental implants, transosseous implants are also among the most popular options when it comes to implants. It is a very stable implant that acts like 4 standard root implants. This implant is done in cases where the lower jaw is shrunken and the jaw is very narrow/thin. This implant is avoided mostly by dentists since it is complicated.

  • Average range – 33,000 – 65,000 Rs.

 4) Plate form dental implant 

 Used when the jawbone is too narrow, the plate form implant is a flat and long implant that is inserted directly under the gums. The surgical process is similar to that of root form implant.

  • Average range – 20,000 – 35,000 Rs.

 5) Root form dental implant 

 One of the most common forms of implants, root form implants are 100% compatible with your body biologically. They are made of titanium and are the best choice when it comes to dental implants. Here the implant is used to cover the root of teeth and an abutment and a crown are placed over the implant to make it look congruent with the other teeth in your mouth.

  •  Average range – 30,000 – 50,000 Rs.

Factors to consider when considering the cost of an implant

  • Location of the dentist(Tier-1 cities, Tier-2 cities, towns or villages)
  • Your budget and insurance cost.
  • The materials used for implants by dentists.(Aesthetics, finish, strength, polish).
  • Type of dental implant.
