Full Mouth Dentures Patient Testimonial
Ranganayaki Ammal, a 63-year-old woman visited Sendhil Dental Clinic a few months ago. She said that she was experiencing severe pain in her teeth. When the Dentists checked her mouth, most of her teeth were infected with dental caries. Few teeth were broken due to the deterioration of decay.
Similarly, her remaining healthy teeth also appeared loose. To examine the depth of infection in her mouth, intra-oral photos and OPG (full mouth X-ray) were taken. The enhanced computer images of her teeth showed that all of her teeth were in poor condition and they could not be treated or preserved.
Then the dental team decided to do full mouth extraction (removing all teeth) and offer full mouth rehabilitation with implants or removable complete dentures.
When the treatment was explained to the patient, she agreed for total extraction and preferred removable complete denture for teeth restoration.
While discussing with her regarding the treatment to realize her problems and concerns, she revealed that she had been treated for Hepatitis-B infection. She added that her previous dentist was scared for risk of exposure and refused to treat her dental ailment.
Hepatitis – B is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis- B virus (HBV). It is highly contagious and can be easily spread through contact with infected blood and body fluids. Dental Health Care Professionals are at high risk of exposure while treating Hepatitis –B Patients.
Proper infection control and Sterilization protocol are the golden standards followed by Sendhil Dental Clinic Professionals. They are always ready to combat such conditions with appropriate antibodies. Hence the Dentists do not hesitate or deny to treat Ranganayaki Ammal.
The Dental specialists began the dental treatment. All of her teeth were extracted in four visits within a duration of 3 weeks. When the healing was satisfactory, Impressions were made for Complete Denture Fabrication. In a week all the procedures were completed and she was happy to receive her new dentures.
The entire dental team of Sendhil Dental Clinic was vaccinated well ahead against Hepatitis-B each and every time extracting her teeth and while taking impressions.
Later, the patient was reviewed after a week to know whether she was experiencing discomforts with the new dentures. She replied that she was comfortable and able to eat well with her dentures. She added that it was cheerful to retain her beautiful smile and receive compliments from my friends & relatives.
Now, she is extremely happy with her denture. Satisfied with the outcome of the dental treatment, she has given a handwritten note as a token of gratitude.
